Private Lessons
Participants will have the opportunity to take Private Lessons with all Musical Theater Faculty (Acting Technique with Alan Langdon, Audition Technique with Ken Schatz, Singing Technique with Bill Reed or Musical Coaching with Tim Guiles). Private lessons will be given each evening from 6:30-8:30pm and will have a set fee of $60/hour and $30/half-hour.
Students must sign-up for lessons during Program Check-in. Lesson slots will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and payment is required at the time of sign-up, payable by check directly to the instructor.
Note: Signing up for private lessons constitutes an agreement between the student and the instructor. The instructor agrees to provide the lesson, and the student agrees to arrive on time and prepared for the lesson. Refunds will not be given for missed lessons.
Master Classes
Master Classes are classes in which all students watch and listen as the teacher takes one student at a time for a public lesson, usually on stage. The student performs a piece which they have prepared, and the teacher gives them advice on how to perform it. The value of the master class is that all students benefit from the teacher's comments and the performer benefits from the chance to perform in front of an audience.
Recital and Barbecue
On the afternoon of Saturday, June 27 there will be Cabaret Recital featuring participants from the Musical Theater Summer Intensive. This performance is a requirement for those taking the course for credit and optional for non-credit students. The recital will be open to friends and family, and a Barbecue Celebration on the UVM Campus will follow. Participants have already paid for the Barbecue through their program fee. Participants may purchase Barbecue tickets for friends and family during Program Registration.
Photographs of performances during the recital will be taken by an amateur photographer and will be available for purchase after the performance. The recital will also be filmed, and DVDs will be available following the program. Everyone will get a recital DVD, which is included in the program fee for the class. We will send the DVD to the address we have on your registration record, unless you notify us otherwise.
