Building upon Vermont's environmental leadership, UVM's Institute for Global Sustainability fosters integrative solutions through inter and trans-disciplinary educational programs. The mission of the Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS) is to educate students and citizens to serve as leaders in the transition to a sustainable world.
Featured Program
Spring Solutions Lecture Series Offered weekly through April 2010, this lecture series consists of an on-campus public lecture and web-streaming option. Speakers for 2010 include Richard Wolfson, Kristen Shearan and the 350.org organizers to name a few. The lecture series is supported by the University of Vermont's Institute for Global Sustainability, Gund Institute, Rubenstein School, and the Solutions Journal and US Society of Ecological Economics.
