Enrolling in the Speech Language Pathology Assistant Course Sequence
The course sequence provides the knowledge and skill level for individuals who are serving as support personnel to assist Speech Language Pathologists with the diverse needs of children with communication disabilities and their families in the school setting. The strengths of this program are that it draws on the expertise of practicing professionals and that it incorporates currently available coursework.
Who might be interested in this SLPA Course Sequence?
- College graduates with a bachelors degree, interested in exploring the field of speech-language pathology or entering UVM’s graduate program in Communication Sciences
- Para-educators with a bachelor’s degree, interested in specializing in the speech and language needs of children in schools as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant.
- Parents and family members, of children with speech and language need interested in learning more about how to teach their children. A bachelor’s degree is required.
Please note that holding a Bachelor’s Degree or higher is a requirement for applying to this program.
Do you already have a bachelor’s degree?
The courses provide a pathway toward preparing for enrollment in a master’s degree program in speech-language pathology or an opportunity to explore the field of speech language pathology as a future career.
