This course is an introduction to black & white photography. We will explore the creative and technical aspects of photography as an image and artistic driven medium. Through class demonstrations and discussions we will study theory, design, composition and aesthetics of photography. You will have the opportunity to use and develop your creative voice. Objectives: It is my intention that at the end of this class you will be able to: Feel comfortable using your 35mm camera - Demonstrate an understanding of aperture, shutter, ISO relationships and their effect on the photographic image. - Expose, load, and process B&W film. Make and edit contact sheets and print enlargements. - Develop the ability to critically evaluate your work and others' work constructively through participating in class critiques. - Understand the principles in making strong visual images. - Have fun and enjoy your creative process.
