A computer based portfolio development class focused on learning the fundamentals of composition and standard graphic software to create a range of visual communication solutions. Prerequisite: Public Communication majors only.
Dates: May 22 - June 16, 2017; PCOM Majors Only
Course objectives: focuses on understanding and applying the fundamentals of visual design composition, and development of basic skills using Adobe CS – a standard group of design production programs.
Typical format: hands on computer lab work, some lecture and demonstration. Much of the work can be completed in class. Some preparation for class is required - reading, research and sketching. Students need a storage device for files.
Student achievement is evaluated via two portfolios of digitally constructed design solutions and written design analysis - one at midterm and one at the end of term.
