About BCOR 101 Z1

The basis of inheritance, covering topics from classical genetics to modern molecular studies. Analysis of genetic data emphasized, from prokaryotic, animal, and plant systems. Prerequisites: BIOL 001 or BCOR 011, and BIOL 002 or BCOR 012; or BCOR 021; and also CHEM 031, CHEM 035, or CHEM 051, and CHEM 032, CHEM 036, or CHEM 052.

Dates: May 22 - June 16, 2017. Prereqs: BIOL 001 & 002, or BCOR 011 & 012, or BCOR21; CHEM 031 & 032. Recommended: CHEM 141 & 142.

Section Expectation

After successfully completing this course students will be able to: 1. Apply the process of science and draw logical conclusions. 2. Compare and evaluate the different levels of biological organization, from the molecular to the population scale. 3. Use quantitative calculations in many different genetic situations. 4. Evaluate and articulate the contribution of biology to society.
