All students are required to activate a UVM email account. Important information from UVM such as your electronic bill, class cancellation notices, room/time changes, and other messages from UVM faculty and staff will ONLY be sent to your UVM email address. Failure to activate and check your UVM email account may result in late payment fees, registration holds, and/or delayed access to grades, etc. Please visit www.uvm.edu/account for instructions and set up/forwarding options.
Your CATcard is your permanent ID and is required to check out library materials, and utilize on-line library resources. Your CATcard is available after you have registered for classes and is reactivated automatically each semester you enroll in a course.
To obtain a CATcard, visit the CATcard Service Center in the University Store Building , Monday-Thursday 9 am–5 pm , Friday 9 am–4 pm . All students taking courses on campus must have a photo CATcard.
If you are taking a course off campus or online, you can obtain your CATcard by contacting Continuing Education at (800)639-3210 or 656-2085 or by email.

Go to Student Finances to learn about your options for paying your bill and viewing your student account. All account balances must be paid prior to future course registration and receipt of grades, transcripts, or diploma.
Because paper copies of grades are no longer mailed you may access your grade(s) online. Go to www.uvm.edu/studentlogin to view your grade(s). To log in, use either your ID number that begins with 95, or your Social Security number. For your password, use either your birthdate or newly created PIN. At the main menu, click on "Student Records." If you need an official transcript, or can't remember your PIN, please call the Registrar's Office, (802)656-2045.
Your coursework may require you to use the UVM libraries, either in-person or on-line. Visit library.uvm.edu to learn more about the resources available, such as the library catalog, databases, course reserves, and other services. If you are connecting to the library from off-campus, click on "Connect from Off Campus" and follow the instructions for setting up your proxy server or downloading the VPN client.
You will need your CATcard to sign out library materials, check your library records, renew your library books, or to recall materials from other users. You will need your Net ID and password to access online library resources including electronic reserves.
