Courses offered through Continuing Education are open primarily to Continuing Education (non-degree) students. Courses are also open to:
Continuing Education (non-degree) students who register for 12 or more credits per semester should consult an advisor in Continuing Education. Please call 800-639-3210 or 656-2085 to speak with an advisor. There are no limits on the number of courses a Continuing Education (non-degree) student can take each semester. However, students who have earned 30 credit hours and intend to earn an undergraduate degree should submit an application to the Admissions Office for acceptance into a degree program. Students who intend to apply for a graduate degree should contact the Graduate College if they have earned nine credit hours of graduate-level coursework at UVM or elsewhere.
Continuing Education (non-degree) students can enroll in Day Division courses. See Important Dates & Information. For a complete list of Day Division courses, go to registrar.uvm.edu.
UVM degree students must secure the prior approval of their program advisors for all courses taken for credit, including any courses offered through Continuing Education. A UVM degree student dismissed for academic reasons may enroll in Continuing Education courses only with the written approval from his/her previous academic dean. Students dismissed for academic dishonesty must obtain written approval from the Coordinator of Academic Honesty, 349 Waterman. Students suspended or dismissed for disciplinary reasons must obtain written approval from the Office of Judicial Affairs, 41 So. Prospect St.

Individuals with high school diplomas or the equivalent and those who hold college degrees are eligible to enroll in Continuing Education courses.

Students from other institutions may enroll in Continuing Education courses. However, the student should have the credits approved in advance by the dean of his/her institution prior to enrollment. Credits earned at UVM are transferable only at the discretion of the receiving institution.
