Thinking about running a marathon or half-marathon anytime soon? Why not have a group of fellow-runners and a running coach stop by once a week to help you train, provide support, and motivate you to reach your goal? With our live online class, More than Miles, you’ll learn how to train and nourish your body, develop the motivation to sustain your training, and receive support from a qualified instructor and caring classmates – all from the comfort and convenience of your home or office.

Believe it or not, completing a long distance running event is something almost anyone can accomplish safely if properly educated, trained, nourished and motivated. But many people fail to reach their goal because they lose motivation or suffer one of many all too common injuries.

Whether you are planning to run a race this spring, or want to know more before you begin a training program, this course will provide valuable insights no matter what your timetable or current running experience. Runners who have completed half or full marathons but want to improve their performance will also benefit from this course. Even if you have never run an organized race before or feel like you are “too old” to start now, this course can provide the framework and motivation to get started and accomplish an impressive feat.

Class Description: ‘Running’ is as simple as putting one foot in front of the other quickly. But running efficiently with comfort and confidence for 13 to 26 miles requires careful preparation and smart training. This course will explore a wide variety of topics on safe, successful marathon and half-marathon preparation in a concise, thorough, entertaining, and time-efficient manner.

Class Highlights :

  • Select and customize a training plan specific to YOUR capability and fitness
  • Tune your body for running with strength and flexibility exercises
  • Eat and drink to fuel your workouts and maximize recovery

Just like a live classroom, this interactive real-time online class offers weekly lectures from a live instructor who will answer your questions instantly. You will also learn from answers to others’ questions. And unlike a live class, you can even ask questions in private. A combination of live two-way audio and online chat allows you to communicate with the instructor and even stay after class and talk with other students. Participating in the class from home saves you time – something you never have enough of, especially when training for a major event!
